The 2nd picture was taken the night before my version to try and flip Vince from being breech (it worked!). I was about to put Dominic to bed, and knew that it was very possible I might deliver Vince the next day. This was a very emotional moment for me knowing that my relationship with my 1st baby- my whole world was about to change.

If you are going through something similar right now, here are a few ways you can use music to help soften the feeling of losing that special bond when baby #2 arrives:

1. Create a special playlist with baby #1 and set aside some time every day to listen to it together.

2. Together with baby #1, create a “sibling” playlist for new brother or sister. This will help the older child to feel included, and can be something special that the siblings bond over once the new baby arrives.

Did you feel a certain loss when your next baby was born? How did you deal with it? How long did it take for your relationship with your first baby to feel like it was getting back to “normal”?
