Donald Shetler, a professor at the Eastman School of Music, conducted a study showing that children who listened to classical music on a consistent basis (20 min per day) had improved language skills, better memory, and greater organization of information.

Since we know that babies begin hearing sounds from the outside world around 4 months gestation, it would make sense that this theory applies to babies in the womb as well!

I came across a really interesting article about using music to focus the brain in older children. It provides specific songs and techniques to help optimize this outcome!
