Good Morning Song!

In the early months (ok- even still with my 2.5-y-o sometimes!) baby wakes up a lot at night. Use music to help them differentiate between nighttime and morning time.

If you need to go in to feed or comfort them in the middle of the night, try to keep things low key. Leave the lights off if you can, and try not to engage them too much. Sing their bedtime song quietly or use their sleepy playlist if you have one.

Then in the morning, go in to greet them with a cheery, upbeat song that indicates that it’s time to wake up and start the day! They will learn to associate each different song with the corresponding time of day. The energy level of the song should match the energy level that you want them to have, which will make it easier to transition either back to sleep, or to start the day.
