Classical Music and Your Baby

You have most likely heard of The Mozart Effect. Does classical music really make your baby smarter?

This theory has been tested on rats. The experimental group was played classical music (Mozart) as they made their way through a maze. The control group completed the maze in silence. The group listening to music made their way through the maze more quickly and with fewer mistakes, showing greater temporal/spatial awareness.

This may translate to cognitive skills needed for math, arts, and navigation later in life... for people, that is, not rats.

Although the phrase “you little rat” is uttered quite often in my house😉
